Despite the fact that a number of undergrads are eating the burgers at Hungry Jack's (a.k.a. Burger King) over here because they say the burger meat is halal, Hungry Jack's is NOT halal. This information was received by a postgrad after they asked a Muslim girl (of Arabic descent) currently working in the Hungry Jack's outlet at the corner of Currie Street and West Terrace.

Salam Dr. Kamarul,
I just want to share a little information from my mate that working in Hungry Jack. He provides me the supplier name for Hungry Jack together with the link as below:

I don`t means anything, just like to share the information that I got.
It is true that this company does produce some halal meat products but they also have products that are not halal. So I took the liberty of sending in an inquiry via the above company's website for some confirmation and I received a call from one of their Managers, Mr. Robert Thompson (Export Sales Manager - Tel: 07 3718 5018 ) in reply to my inquiry last Friday. He said that the Halal products by this company are for the export market ONLY. They do NOT supply any of their Halal products to South Australia, including the Hungry Jack's outlets here.
