Dear Student,
This is information for all students insured with OSHC Worldcare. If you are not with Worldcare for your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), please disregard this message. If you are an AusAID scholarship student, you will have already received a version of this email.
We have been advised by OSHC Worldcare that their new premiums will take effect from 11 November 2011.
The following new premiums will apply after this date:
- Single Cover (Covers only the valid student visa holder) : $395 per year
- Dual Family Cover (Covers one valid student visa holder PLUS either one adult spouse or recognised de-facto partner OR one or more dependent children): $990 per year
- Multi Family Cover (Covers one student visa holder PLUS more than one dependant which can only include one adult spouse or recognised de-facto partner AND one or more dependant children ) : $1975 per year
This is more than double the current annual fee for OSHC family cover and is a reflection of the high cost of providing health services for students with families. I have attached the Premium Schedule for 2012, which also lists the price for single cover. The price for single cover has decreased slightly.
If you are planning to have your family accompanying you as dependants on your student visa in the future, we strongly advise that you consider upgrading your OSHC to family cover before 11 November 2011.
This is also recommended if you need to extend your family health cover for any reason.
OSHC Worldcare Representatives are available at the International Student Centre at the following times:
- Tuesdays: 10:30 am – 1:00 pm
- Wednesdays: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm and
- Fridays 9:30 am – 12 noon.
